just a small selection of security firms. Many companies
in this business do not want to make themselves public
and they get the clients through recommendations, rather
than publicity. Often, they do not make their recruitment
public.
When you are talking about Close
Protection Specialists, or body guards,
you should take note, that many employers
who look for security specialists have little use for the
"hip-shooter type". You need a clean
criminal record and drug testing is widely done in this
business.
These
close protection jobs obviously range from protecting the
local politician or businessmen to international
financiers, statesmen and corporate tycoons. These
latter, increasingly look for the sophisticated
specialists that blend in, (the way he/she looks
and can move at top levels of society) and do not carry
the military hairstyle that so often makes bodyguards
instantly visible. Social sophistication is
asked for many of the high level security
jobs now. If you speak more than one language
fluently, you have a good chance of landing
a top
international job. Domestic security jobs usually
do not require that. But, highly competent, well dressed
and socially sophisticated males or females
are even domestically, in increasing demand.
If you
are a sophisticated, good looking
and multi lingual competent female security person, with
fluency in, besides English, at least two
of French, Russian, German, Spanish, Arabic and
Portuguese, or combinations thereof, you are another
category, that will find a job almost immediately. These
professionals are not well paid escorts, but highly
competent security employees! That you have
defensive driving skills and outstanding marksmanship, is
self evident.

been serving in the Secrete Service you are likely to
have the widest on the job experience. You will
be offered the highest salary. Someone with ordinary
military experience (even if you have served in the
Marines or Delta Force or some other elite unit), without
close-personal protection experience, will be offered
significantly lower salaries. As a personal or family
bodyguard, pay may range from $250 per day to $800 a day.
Most internationally active private bodyguards earn
in excess of $90,000 annually, plus housing and meals.
The pay for a beginner is likely lower, but you are
building experience and a resume. You should also not
forget, that in this very personal service, loyalty to
your employer pays
If you
can offer additional qualifications such as being
trained and having at least a year's experience as a
paramedic, you will be extremely attractive to
individuals seeking bodyguards. Similarly, having
extensive computer experience, language
skills,teaching skills and/or skills
with children and teens, will add a lot of money
to your salary.
